SynopsisA murder mystery weekend becomes a little too real in the latest Bay Island Psychic Mystery from the author of Death at First Sight—Cass Donovan uses her skills as a former psychiatrist to get away with pretending to be psychic, but she’s not about to let anyone get away with murder...The outlook is not so good for Cass’s psychic shop, Mystical Musings. With winter winds discouraging tourists from riding the ferry from Long Island to Bay Island, Cass hopes to draw in more customers by hosting a murder mystery weekend, complete with a séance, in a supposedly haunted mansion. But Cass begins to lose her spirit when her ex-husband shows up, along with his fiancée—Cass’s ex-best friend. Then, after one of the guests is found dead, a blizzard blows in, trapping everyone inside with a murderer. Now Cass must divine who did the deed before her reputation and her livelihood fade away.
What I Thought:
This was a very interesting read. I really enjoyed reading about Cass and her friends, Stephanie, a Bee, their friendship is spectacular and Bee with Beast, who is Cass' dog made things really entertaining, sometimes laugh-out-loud. You know Bee has to really think a lot of Cass when he agrees to help her with a mystic weekend at a supposedly haunted mansion. When the body of one of the owners is found hanging in the cupola, Cass suspects he did not do himself in. Of course Cass also has to deal with her ex-husband and ex-best friend, who was found in a compromising positon with her ex-husband, over this weekend. This was a well written book that had a great plot and kept me interested. I am not sure if I believe in fortune-telling and séances, but it was fun to read about them.
I received a complimentary copy of this book.
