When Phil accepted Christ and stopped drinking, his hard-partying wife Brandi divorced him. Reeling and betrayed, he became convinced Christians should never remarry, and resolves to guard his heart. Allison Vasak has everything in her life under control, except her heart is irresistibly drawn to fellow attorney Phil Reid. As Phil and Allison work closely together to help a pregnant teen, Allison melts Phil’s defenses. But when Brandi discovers their relationship, she decides that though she doesn’t want him, no one else can have him. Can Phil and Allison’s love weather the chaos Brandi brings into their lives?

My Review:

This book started out really slow for me, but towards the middle it really picked up and I couldn't hardly put it down.  I just had to find out what happened next.  I had a lot going on in it.  There were several characters all with small plot lines of their own.  The major players were Allison and Phil.  Phil is divorced.  His hard partying wife left him after he found the Lord.  He doesn't think that divorced people should marry again, but he can't help his attraction to Allison.  Allison really likes Phil and can't understand how he can be interested one minute and not the next.  When they both try to help pregnant teenager, Lindsay, and her dad, Marcus, will things change for Phil and Allison.  Throw in Phil's crazy ex-wife, Brandi, causing all kinds of trouble, this turns into a thriller.  Will Brandi go too far?  I really did like this book once I got into it.  It wasn't a fast read at first, but towards the end you won't be able to put it down.  Great job Elizabeth.

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest review.
